Neil Woodhall has always written stories but he kept his day job to support his family. After retiring, he finished that book. Coming soon are sequels. This website is where we can visualize our natural place in deep time.

Soon after Neil got married to Stina, a movie called Star Wars came out. That was a game changer. The plot was based on traditional western movies, but the backstory had characters who piloted starships, instead of riding horses.

The book that this author had been working on took place in the ordinary here and now. He wondered … what sort of story line would fit his writing goals if it had a theme that was out there among the stars?

While they were busy raising a family, the science of astronomy was moving forward by leaps and bounds. New star gazing technology led to a revolution in our perception of where planet Earth is located in the grand vista of outer space. Neil tracked these discoveries and began imagining what types of characters would inhabit this larger view. At first the details were murky. Eventually, the backstory grew into a comfortable place to tell a tale.

The first volume of the Deep Time series, The End of the Sixties, is now available on Amazon. The characters have their adventures, but the cosmic geography is based on this expanded vision of our place in space.
